COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have been a member of CouchSurfing & Hospitality Club since summer 2006. I've made great friends and met lots of really fantastic people who have enriched my traveling experience. Most of my experiences have been positive. On the negative I've had guests who I've gone out of my way for and got nothing back in return not even a thank-you email - but these are rare!My first guests were 3 Spanish cyclists: Toni, Francisco & Anna - I met them from the bus and drove them and their bikes to my house and cooked them dinner. The following night we had a bbq with two more HC members from Germany. A few months later I was passing through Seville on my way to Morocco and the same Spanish met me from the bus - brought me & 3 mates back to their flat and had prepared beautiful tapas for us. They let us sleep there for the night and drove us to the first bus going to Algiceras at 6AM! SORTED =D

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle." Ernest Hemingway
