About Me

Search, find, explore, learn, experience, meet, love!

I am a passionate, inquisitive, knowledge-hungry, challenge-loving, playful person. Spontaneous, yet slightly reserved, detailed and analytical. I'm also adventurous, strong-minded, truthful and mellow. I enjoy laughing as much as sober conversation, the company of others as much as time on my own.

Be fully alive in every moment.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a pretty and well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a ride!'"

Learn to love God and people with my all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife and I surf & are surfed, travel and meet people as often as possible, & promote a spirit of hope and exploration. I've been a CS ambassador too.

Ireland : CSurfed for 7 weeks. Met a great number of fascinating CSers at loads of socials. South Africa: Created the Stellenbosch group and became the city ambassador. I've introduced many people to CS and to Stellenbosch, hosted, organised loads of socials and suppers here, and attended socials in Cape Town. Thailand: Met a refreshing concoction of CSers while living on Ko Samui. Cambodia: Loved CSing in Phnom Penh, and meeting people at CS socials.

A weeklong water fight - Songkran in Chiang Mai.

Surfed and swam with wild dolphins many times.

Victoria Falls.

Off-the-beaten-track honeymoon in Thailand.

Being kept awake in my tent by grazing hippos, noisy lions, by a storm at the Lake of Storms etc.

Heard angels sing.

A waterspout at the Cliffs of Moher, Ireland.

Watching the exotic Orient roll by at night, to the sound of a train.

Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat at sunrise, Cambodia.

The extreme flooding of March 2011, in Thailand.

Surfed inside the "green room", deep in a barrel.

Rural Ireland, where they speak a different kind of English!

Living in Asia and exploring it with my exquisite wife, by tuk tuk, bicycle, motorcycle, train, car, bus, boat, taxi, etc.

Watching the full moon rise over the desert, Namibia.

Helping guys during the 2008 xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Staying on a junk in Halong Bay, Vietnam.

Seen a person freed from evil spirits.
