ABOUT ME

I live in Hackney in London with my 8 month old daughter, Isabella, 1 lodger and 1 kitten. I originally come from the SW of England but went to London in the 80s to go to university and have stayed since.

I enjoy being out and about checking out what is happening close to me, ie theatre, music, meetings, etc. Have a wide circle of friends within London, outside and abroad. I try to meet up with them as much as I can though life in London is very busy and expensive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No previous experience of CouchSurfing. Only found out about it recently whilst reading the Guardian's travel section. It sounds a very good way of meeting people.

Interests

Travel; painting and drawing (have my summer house to do projects); reading novels (belong to a Book Group); swimming; dancing (ceroc and salsa). Love trekking and rambling - belong to a walking group. Visiting art galleries and exhibitions. Learning Spanish (have studied it for 3 years on and off).

Music, Movies, and Books

I belong to a book club and we discuss novels mostly contemporary ones. I enjoy going to the cinema but with a baby it is not so easy.

Enjoy world music, jazz, blues, classical music. Basically try to keep an open ear to all kinds of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After an operation in Thailand I was determined to carry on backpacking and went to India on crutches.
