CURRENT MISSION

I am in transition: moving from the basement of my house to the upstairs and considering a move to Ashville, NC for retirement.

ABOUT ME

My main goal in life is to stay balanced and to have fun. Along the way, I want to "make a difference", so I am politically involved - at this point not over involved. I am exploring the Quaker religion; I really like one of the two meetings in Baltimore. I resinate (sp?) with their values.

I am considering a move in the next two years -- for retirement. Currently, I am checking out Ashville, NC.
This is a process and I am in the beginning of it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I see if I can meet local people when I take a road trip. I have a camper/van and really only need a bathroom. Mostly what I am looking for is to meet local people and find out their perspective on their area, good places to eat and enjoy myself, and what's fun.

Once the move is completed (downstairs to upstairs), I will be able to accommodate one or two people. I do not feel comfortable giving my house key to strangers, so we will have to make arrangements to meet.

Traveled cross country 2 x in my life. WOW. What sites. Scuba dived off the shores of Puerto Rico = awesome. Visited the Channel Island (off Los Anglese cost) in a pod of 1,500 dolpins = inspiring.

First woman fire fighter trainee in New England.

Skills: Shrub Tech/pesticide applicator. Familar with Mid-Atlantic region plants. PE teacher in my 20's. Energy auditor and received extensive training.
