We all love to meet new people and learn whatever we can!
Life is an adventure. I like to meet others, and I find that people tend to live up to my expectations.
We figure we have passed this on to the kids. Our last big trip (cross country to California) we mentioned that maybe we should fly, and all of the kids said, "No, we can't fly! We have to drive. If we fly we won't get to see the country." To me that is SUCCESS! The kids realize that getting there is at least half the fun!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately just coffee for now as my 81 yar old invalid father just moved in with us so the house is unsettled a bit. I/we can meet for coffee, show you around Washington DC, parts of Virginia (Northern, Central, Shenandoah Valley) or the Baltimore, Maryland area. (How many of us show up depends on what you want. Do you like crowds or individuals? We all enjoy meeting new folks and learning about other cultures.)
We have Couchsurfed a couple of times, and it has been a great experience. We have also had a chance to host a couple of times and I recommend it wholeheartedly. What an awesome chance to meet others, when our paths would never have crossed otherwise!
Travel, reading, crosstitch, computer.
Music, Movies, and Books
historical fiction; travel books (dream books I call them); mysteries
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Luanna - spent 8 days in South Africa, working in some of the townships near George. Most of that time was in Conville. I want to never forget the love and joy I experienced there with both the children and the volunteers who work with them on a daily basis.
Bethany - 2 mission trips to Belize opened my eyes to a different world. My two months in Uganda were oth a challenge and a blessing! My heart belongs to Family Spirit Orphanage in Masindi.
Rachel - A week as an American teenage camper at an English language camp for Polish teens in Poland. That was unique.
Teach, Learn, Share
