"The more I think about it, the more I’d like to take a rain check on the topic of me. What I’d like to know more about is the objective reality of things outside myself. How important the world outside is to me, how I maintain a sense of equilibrium by coming to terms with it. That’s how I’d grasp a clearer sense of who I am."- Murakami

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I can easily divide my life into pre-CS and post-CS. When backpacking through Europe in college with a friend, she suggested we stay with strangers rather than in hostels. I thought she was crazy. Then, after checking out CS, I ended up being the one to reach out to all our hosts because I thought it was such a cool idea. Then the reality ended up being even better than the idea I had of it.
The general thread in my CS experience is the generosity and warmth of people all over the world who just want to connect on a human level. There's nothing greater than experiencing new cultures through new friends—it makes the world seem so much more interesting, less intimidating, and smaller than it really is.
creativity, art, film, writing, photography, documentaries, festivals, dance, soccer, skiing, snowboarding, biking, the ocean, nature, preventative medicine, food, making new friends while keeping the old, and, of course, exploring the world

A book I'd recommend to anyone: The Art of Happiness in a Troubled World
I like too many movies. I'm in awe of them. I like to get high off of them. I like to watch them alone and with people. Essentially, I'm obsessed and sometimes I think about how sad it is that I will never have enough time to experience all the great art of the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I paraglided for the first time on a "reality" show in India where I was pretending to already know what I was doing, and they also forced me to speak in Hindi with a bad American accent! :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm learning more about digital photography every day and can share what I'm learning. Mostly, I feel that I'm in a soaking-up-knowledge phase of my life and I'm trying to balance the need to explore and move with the need to stay in one place and learn all the things I've been putting off—it's tough :). My teachers in no specific order: comedians, astrophysicists, writers, artists, Malala, the Dalai Lama, travelers, and of course, teachers!
