About Me

I'm a new york-raised filmmaker / translator / culture journalist who likes climbing stuff, making videos, and hanging out with people like you!

I'm currently in the middle of an intensive Hungarian language study so if you're a native speaker looking for an English-speaking practice partner, hit me up :)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I presided over a sprawling, life-changing CS experiment from January 2009 until December 2012, during which we hosted around 1000 surfers in our Brooklyn flat. Some of my best friends in the whole world are people I met thru CS.

In short, we love having people over. The more the merrier! Everyone in!

Music, Movies & Books

Says Wittgenstein: "Die Grenzen meiner Sprache sind die Grenzen meiner Welt." = The limits of my language are the limits of my world.

Learning new languages and meeting new people expands your world and enriches your life!

One Amazing Thing I've Done

In Greenland I saw calving icebergs, 3:00am sunshine, Blok P, sleeping husky puppies, sliced-open seals, and a disembodied moose head on top of a table.

Check out my flickr photos!

More photos on my friend's flickr!

Some are a bit graphic (as described above)...

Teach, Learn, Share

stuff i know...

+My previous job was writing about NYC's art- and film-related events for a magazine. I also covered lots of festivals abroad, so I can tell you all about the film universes of Qatar and Kazakhstan, among others!

+I know a lot about aerial acrobatic training and deep stretching

+I love cooking, particularly with fresh-from-the-earth or obscure ingredients

+I have a fair amount of experience with fasting and meditation. I love natural healing, it's saved my life, and I love sharing what the journey has taught me

+I traveled to Myanmar alone and can give you the rundown. It's amazing!

+Ask me about Greenland :)

+I grew up in New York, so I know a lot about the city! I can recommend cool stuff to do that's a bit off the grid

I want to learn...

+The language you speak, especially if that language is Hungarian!

+More about fitness, flexibility, and yoga

+How to hitchhike / spend $0 while traveling

+How to cook the food you grew up eating. I'll try
