Having settled in Wellington, make friends, travel around NZ
I am a jovial person, loves to make friends and have jokes or engaging discussions. I am careful about my health, exercise regularly and is generally happy. I was raised and educated in Malaysia. I had made a good living as a lecturer, but is unhappy in a Muslim country full of racial discrimation and a bad education system. I had recently migrated to NZ, on 22 January 2008 and has happily settled in Wellington. Now, I would love to explore NZ and its beautiful countryside.
To be happy in life, a person has to share his life with someone, share his/her thoughts, empathy for others, show kindness wherever needed, and always reflect on our conduct and intentions. I believe in lifelong learning from others. Growing old, a person must have a circle of friends to sustain a happy existence. A rich person could be unhappy if he/she has no friends later in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am generally helpful. We can always meet, have some healthy drinks and discuss about protecting the environment, etc. I do a lot reading, research in accounting and finance. I am also a tax consultant. I am unable to host anyone at this time since I am renting a house where my landlord is not happy if I bring a host.
Have hosted three couchsurfers in Kuching sometime in 2007. Two of them actually stayed for a night in my house in Kuching. We usually have dinner, and talked of places to visit in Sarawak and also the local delicacies to try and savour their taste.
Badminton games, Jungle and mountain trekking, jogging, reading articles on health, making friends, lively conversations, cooking Asian food. I love travelling and visiting places for sightseeing. Have been visiting many countries; Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, USA, England, Europe, New Zealand.
Music, Movies, and Books
Love movies of all kinds. Listens mostly to sentimental and soft classical music. Reads books on health, history of places, and novels.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach accounting and finance courses. I can share my knowledge on Taxation in Malaysia and New Zealand. I would like to learn more about New Zealand culture and perhaps job opportunities for me.
