Música, películas y libros

Especially like what's called "traditional" or "folk" music (without being too purist), and I know quite a few local musicians who play "Occitan" music, of southern France and the SW Alps. And pretty much everything else that is genuine. Rebel music. Movies: anyone remember Dersu Uzula by Kurosawa? Altered States was pretty cool. Matrix thought-provoking. No Direction Home, the Dylan bio was mesmerizing.
Books...well, authors mainly....Edward Abbey, Lesley Marmon Silko, John Nichols' New Mexico Trilogy, John Fante, Carl Hiassen for a kick, Chelis Glendenning, Paul Shepard, Derrick Jensen...just read The Forging of a Rebel by Arturo Barea about the prelude to and the Spanish Civil War, tremendous book....
