To see the world and give kindness and appreciation as I go, watching myself change in the beauty of the process
Happily married with children, born in NH and raised in ME, moved to MA at 11 and have lived here ever since. Up until last August, I worked as a dental assistant...I love this work as I love intricate work and working with patients is my passion. Before I go back to work I am going to see the world. Starting last year I began to feel that the dirt under my feet was starting to solidify around them...then I checked out a map of the United States and discovered that I had only seen 17% of my own country. I decided that it was time to see more, and I plan to take a road trip starting in May or June of this year.
I am very pro-environment, pro-choice, liberal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have not yet couch surfed, but a friend has done this all over the world and has had such a wonderful experience and inspired me to do the same.
I make jewelry out of victorian findings as well as found items. I read, enjoy all kinds of music from Van Morrison to Seether, write poetry, photography. I appreciate people and long to have conversations with those around me. I'm a bit of a scavenger when it comes to recycling trash into treasure, believing that no green store should be out of reach to those who need to shop there. Passionate about vintage cars, specifically muscle cars from the late 1960s and early 1970s...someday I'll own one! For the past 8 years, every early spring I organize an endangered salamander migration watch, where local people ensure that salamanders crossing roads are not killed by passing cars. Do the watch once and you're hooked for life!
Music, Movies, and Books
Matrix Trilogy, Hairspray (the original), 80's Brat Pack movies (16 Candles, Breakfast Club), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, O Brother Where Art Thou
My music changes with my mood, so I can fluctuate from soft tunes to 80's to angry metal music...early 20th century blues, Sarah McLachlan, old Emmylou Harris, Van Morrison, Billie Myers, Dixie Chicks, Evanescence, Joan Jett...
TV - Biographies, UFO, science and forensics documentaries, Loony Toons, Spongebob.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in a tipi as a child...hauled water, peed in an outhouse, learned to keep a fire going, learned to appreciate the earth...all by the age of 7. Left a strong nomadic spirit in me that I retain to this day.
