About Me

Getting every single corn to pop in a microwave popcorn bag without burning the rest... especially challenging since I don't own a microwave (;

Well, okay. I'm not really good with describing myself, but I'll try. So, the name my parents chose for me is Maureen, but most of my friends usually call me Joey ('cause they just do [:), so please feel free to call me that too, I'm fine with both. My life evolves around my cat, my friends, my cameras (yes, plural), music, books and pencils. Couldn't live without them. I like to draw, I'm in love with old and analogue cameras, I'm interested in pretty much everything.
Well then, other then that I'm a chaosperson; I'm a vegan; I plan my year according to rock festival; I love animals and they love me ;P; I'm a bit lazy but sometimes have hyperactive phases where I can't sit still; At first I'm usually a bit shy and quiet (I'm really bad at small talk and stuff), but after a while I can talk with no end; I like to read, preferably books with a looot of pages;

I'm pretty sure I can be a bit nerdy (about movies, comics/manga, books) sometimes and appear strange. I'm also not the type to go to clubs and stuff. I much more enjoy to sit in a bar and have a drink, or go to concerts, parties, a spontaneous walk through the woods,... whatever comes up.

Hope that description isn't too daunting. ;)

"When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout!"

music, books, cameras, comics/mangas, movies/TV series, history, drawing,... pretty much anything really.

Music, Movies & Books

I don't like to discern stuff in genres very much but here are some examples. Also, I'm going with all time favourites because otherwise I'll have to update this everyday (;

Music: Alternative, Indie, Rock, Punk, Ska, some Classic, a bit Metal, some Musicals,... but I'm pretty much open to everything and make a point of listening to everything at least once first regardless of the genre and then decide if I like it or not.

Movies and Series: Into the wild, Stranger than fiction, Donnie Darko, Hallam Foe, Charlie Bartlett, Frida, Chocolat, Fight Club, Kick-ass, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Friendship, Der Knochenmann, Dr. Who, House M.D., Torchwood, Queer as folk (british as well as american version), Black Books, Sherlock, Pushing daisies, Bones, Boston Legal...

Books: Absolutley everything that can attract my attention in any way, from fantasy, sci-fi to books about history or linguistics.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I don't really have any kind of special talents I could teach about, (except maybe how to make a kickass vegan cheesecake) but I'm always open to learn stuff (;
