About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Current Mission is to travel, meet new folks, see different cultures and keep growing as an individual personally and professionally.

ABOUT ME

Pretty easy going and relatively well traveled guy. I was born in Scotland and grew up in the UK, Africa and US. I enjoy watching and playing rugby and I recently rediscovered a childhood passion- cycling. I like to read, travel and enjoy a good party/boggie. Musically I like every thing but have a passion for blues and classical music

PHILOSOPHY

"Work hard, play harder" "Try and be successful without screwing people along the way. (I can't remember who said this probably Warren Buffett a guy I admire a great deal)"

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I stayed with a few people in Belguim and Holland and I have hosted a couple in London.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I read about couch surfing in Tim Ferriss' book "4 hour week" in 2008 and I have hosted and been hosted since.

Interests

Investing, travel, cycling, blues, rugby, playing guitar, dancing (salsa etc), entrepreneurship, cooking and Formula 1, go karting etc

Music, Movies & Books

I like all types of movies except horror movies. I like going to concerts. Enjoy classic rock, blues and classical music. Schubert's Piano Trio No 2 in E flat is one of the best pieces that shows the beauty of the violin, cello and piano in perfect harmony. Some of my favourite bands include the power trios- The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King. Led Zep, and my local blues bar in London favourites- Ian Siegal, Tim and the Contenders, Wes Weston. Also like some indie and hip pop. I read a lot of investing books but I recently enjoyed Carlos Ruiz Zafon's "The Shadow of the Wind"

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I was told I will never play rugby after a horrific back (non rugby) injury in 1998 but my back healed and I returned to the beautiful game in 2006

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach guitar, rugby, tennis, karting (racing) and business for the real nerds.
