I'm a complete geek when it comes to films and languages, and after that my biggest interest is food, which is one of the major reasons for traveling as far as I'm concerned.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many I love too much... but off the top of my head - in terms of music I love jazz, doo wop, boogaloo, soul, blues, funk, reggae and anything you can sing along to really loudly; books - Dino Buzzati, Bohumil Hrabal, Dostoyevsky, Dumas, Thomas Pynchon, P.G. Wodehouse, Elmore Leonard, Leonardo Sciascia, Gunter Grass and so many more; movies - really too many to know where to start, but generally art house stuff, surreal stuff, anything that surprises me or makes me laugh. At the moment I'm working on a project about Czech movies, and I'm really in love with Jiri Trnka and Karel Zeman (as well as all the New Wave stuff)

At the risk of being cheesy, watching the sunrise from the top of a mountain in China; eating a 1.5 kg ice cream sundae while Moscow was seething with nuclear smog; watching a Yann Tiersen concert from a tree...
