About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to love people deeply and be my best possible me
ABOUT ME
Well, I'm a creative, open minded and friendly gal, and I try my best to lead a healthy, active, environmentally and socially conscious lifestyle. I grew up in a small boring town and so have always been a traveler and dreamer. I lived in the Caribbean when I was 9-10 which was pretty ace. I like spontaneity and good surprises.
PHILOSOPHY
I guess I aim to be more present in each moment and adopt the perspective that life is full of potential and positive opportunities to be reckoned with. A simple, healthy lifestyle and a thankful attitude go a long way. Things I'm working on anyway.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, once I find a place to live in Toronto, I'd love to host travelers! For now though, I'm on the move and will be surfing or meeting up with people through this community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a newbie!! looking forward to it though!
Interests
Laughing uncontrollably is pretty much tops. but I have a lot of other interests too.
I love music! I like finding new artists off the beaten path, I like playing (guitar/piano) and singing and learning new instruments (drums have taken my fancy lately) and going to gigs etc. I love dancing like a crazy woman as much as possible, and I appreciate all types of art forms. I love being outside enjoying nature, and exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
I love reading and learning and creating all kinds of artsy and DIY crafty things. I really enjoy connecting with people and making friends, having interesting conversations and broadening my perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like quirky offbeat or thought-provoking/moving movies, and movies that tap into and capture real humanness, and enlightening documentaries.
Music! The ultimate is music that transports me to another world or unlocks something inside of me I didn't know was there, or makes me uncomfortable at how weird or different it is until it grows on me and I don't know how I ever lived without it, but I also like groovy rhythms to wig out to. Mostly I love innovative original stuff ranging from edgy to rootsy to raw and many things in between. But I'm in a bit of a dry spell at the moment, so feel free to recommend your faves.
Books, I tend to gravitate towards coming-of-age classics like 'This side of paradise', 'Catcher in the Rye', or 'A heartbreaking work of staggering genius', but I love reading so dig into a real variety. I like non-fiction stuff too.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always interested in sharing music or going for coffee or hikes etc. I guess I can teach piano and I know psychology stuff, although it's been rapidly fading since my exams.
Ummm, things I'd like to learn? I can't cartwheel or whistle (very well) or blow bubbles with bubble gum, and I'm pretty athletically challenged (although I love volleyball!), but so far these limitations haven't hindered me too too much. I think cartwheeling would be especially awesome to learn since it looks so fun and liberating.
I like learning languages and would be keen on learning delicious vegetarian/vegan recipes!
I'm also trying to longboard but am a bit of a chicken when it comes to speed and cement.
