ABOUT ME

i live in a world of droned sounds and neon flung -freckled on black light backgrounds. i likes to get crunk, but i also digs my high tea. most of what i think and say is perpendicular. so, i just listen...

i cough up large generalizations, but it's really just my kinda tourette's compulsion. i usually regret everything i say socially.

i'm very easy to get along with. i'm also, very respectful of others. i'm usually humming a tune in my mind and clicking my molars rhythmically and pretending they're drums. my right side is low pitched percussion, my left is high.

i have a good sense of humor. i don't take too many things seriously. i generally expect that from others. but, i will gladly respect(involuntarily) things that other people, who are kind to me, or i respect respect.

i'm was raised vegetarian, but i guess i'm pescotarian now. whatever. i love food, the spicier the better.

i like to meet new people. my attitude at this point is that if you stay open, there's always something cool going on. my definition of "cool," might not be yours, but that's o.k. becuase my definition of cool allows for a large grey area where this is concerned.

i'm living in china right now, but i'll be back in the states, soon, then maybe back in asia somewhere. so if you is good to me.... then i got you in asia!

also, i'd like to spend several months at sea, so if anyone is interested in going in on a room in a freighter, hit me up. i think it would be cool to record some music under these conditions.

for that matter, if any one needs in audio engineer stuff done i'll be there. especially if it involves field recordings, or binaural anything. i'm a really good producer.

PHILOSOPHY

no philosophy.

i have a deep appreciation for the plasticity of my world and ideas.

if, anything, i'm more concerned with quality over quantity. i like to spend a long time in the places i visit. i like hanging out where the locals go. i like drinking with the old folks, whether its tea, coffee, wine, beer, or some cola. i like sitting in the parks, or just wandering around aimlessly. i'd much rather play some basketball with some people than go to whatever major landmark is in town. i'm here or there to try and understand what it's like where i am, so i'd much rather hang out, or wander around than try and fill out a tourist itinerary.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

avoided bus plunge by the hand of god(no other explanation as of yet) in the long ji rice terrace park.

snuck into myanmar accidentally. apparently there is no waterfall in mian dian. (also, note that mian dian is pu tong hua for myanmar, not the town on hour north of xi shaung banna with the water fall.) mei yuo pu bu zai monglar li mian.

once, was able to travel from Blacksburg, Virginia to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ashland, Kentucky to Lexington, Kentucky to Wilmington, N.C. solely on fifty dollars and donations. Pittsburgh food not bombs is the best!

stayed up for 4 days straight in shenzhen despite constant shots of tequila and a bottle of absinthe.

swam in a river near a small village in china - there were bats everywhere!

had a drunken brawl with my friend Kelly in Manhattan, she threw me into a mail box. i retaliated by throwing her into a dumpster. we made up over martinis, i think?

was force fed yak meat by a guy from sichuan in shangri-la at a tibetan restaurant. he put his hands on my mouth and made me chew. i tried to pretend i was Buddhist, but he didn't give a shit. besides i think there were monks eating behind me anyway.

tripping mushrooms for the first time on hickory hills farm in blacksburg, virginia. the morning in the sauna was interesting. the knuckle mountains were beautiful, and the sheep were starting to make sense.

the meher baba ranch in myrtle beach was interesting.

sears tower, chicago. also, hanging on damon street. basically just walking around chicago with a flask of whiskey to combat the cold. had a romantic christmas there.
