About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get myself around the world before it's too late!

ABOUT ME

I'm finally going to begin to fulfil a lifelong dream of going to Europe. Travelling backpack style on my own for six weeks.

I work as an actor and for a theatre in Sydney Australia. I have dual citizenship - German/Australian.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't judge people - it stops you from learning new things and I'm always striving to learn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm working on this... just started couch surfing, but really looking forward to meeting people and trying to help them out. As I write this, I have two Polish travellers staying in my home... I'm just loving their company - and their tips for my own travels too. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet!

Interests

Theatre, music, reading, fashion, design of all kinds, spending time with close friends and my boyfriend, working hard, partying every now and then, seeing/hearing beautiful things, making people feel good about themselves, drinking cups of tea as often as possible!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic tastes. It's taken me 27 years to figure out what I like, and to not care what anyone thinks of my choices anymore. The only common thread I can articulate is a strong and emotional style of writing. Whatever that might be.

Music: Simon and Garfunkel, Rufus Wainwright, Damien Rice, Little Birdy, Silverchair (not so much their latest album), Ray La Montagne, Antony and the Johnsons, The Beatles, The Streets, Robbie Williams (the swing stuff), Paul Simon, Jeff Buckley, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Porcelain.

Film:I love movies that make me think, that make me evaluate my life and my beliefs, that present a new idea to me. I also particularly have a thing for movies with multiple story lines where the characters may or may not come together. Forrest Gump, Lost In Translation, Love Actually, Life Is Beautiful, Dancer In The Dark, Moulin Rouge, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Candy, The Last Samurai, Closer, Revenge Of The Sith, 'V' For Vendetta, Cube, The Beach, Original Sin (have you SEEN that sex scene? Better than real life!), This Boy's Life, Awakenings, Memento, Chocolat, The Notebook.

Fiction Books: The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (a must read - thanks Q!), Damon by Charles Terry Cline, Jr. (an amazing book that I've read several times and would love to get my hands on a copy [lost my last one about 10 years ago]), High Society by Ben Elton, Runaway Jury by John Grisham, Del-Del by Victor Kelleher (when I was about 14!), It by Stephen King (again when I was 14, but I reckon I would still love it now), Perfume by Patrick Süskind

Non-Fiction Books: Illusions by Richard Bach, The Beauty Bible by Paula Begoun, The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield (hasn't this changed everyone's life!), The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks. I was also addicted to the Lonely Planet Guide to Singapore and Malaysia when I was planning a trip there that (sadly!) never ended up happening.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We can talk about this when we meet... gotta save some mystery. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, sewing, acting, and tell you how you can redecorate your home.

I'd like to learn anything you have to teach!
