CURRENT MISSION

We are making a Pilgrimage to Canada! I (Laura) was born in Ottawa in 1984 but began traveling shortly thereafter, never getting the opportunity to revisit the beautiful country of my birth. Well, except for a 12 hour layover in Calgary 10 years ago!

ABOUT ME

Laura: I'm a 24 year old entrepreneur with BIG dreams! I just returned to the US from a 4 month backpacking trip in South America (Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile) and can't wait to get back on the road again. I have many passions, reading inspiring books, freelance writing and screenwriting, and most recently, starting an e-company selling gorgeous vintage clothes! I LOVE animals, music, dancing, learning languages, late night conversations, sharing travel stories and photos, meeting new people, great beers and dirty martinis!
Elaine: I am a 25 year old recent graduate of Humanities at SFSU. I am also the owner of a contracting company and in the next few months I am going to move to New York City to nurture my two passions of art and building into a career in set production and exhibit design. I have been playing the guitar for most of my life and I love to just hang out, have a few drinks, and talk or play music.

PHILOSOPHY

GIVE LOVE. Treat others as you would love to be treated. HAVE FUN. Live each day as fully as possible, sleep exhausted and empty and wake up Full!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is our first experience with CouchSurfing and we are very excited! I learned about CouchSurfing from fellow travelers in Argentina and vowed to try it out on my next journey. In a way, couch surfing has been a way of life for our family, our parents are avid travelers and never hesitated to pick up stragglers on the road and bring them into our home for long nights of laughs, drinks and music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Laura: Paraglided off the cliffs of Ecuador, stomped through the jungles of Bolivia to help collar a wild ocelot, trekked through the depths of Patagonia, surfed double overhead waves in Brazil (although not very well!).
Elaine: Played guitar and sang onstage, saw an albino bat in Bangkok,saw Carl Anderson play Judas, did a back flip off of a flying trapeze, snorkeled with puffer fish and a baby octopus, finally graduated!
