As I will be travelling for a year now, all I can do, to participate is to spread the word and share my experience. And, of course, I hope that trying to be an interesting and convenient helps the project, too.

I think sharing skills could one of the most rewarding experiences of this project. But I need to gain some experience with couchsurfing first, to find out, which skills can be communicated under the circumstances of knowing someone only for a few days.
