To live is to give
I am a musician. I am a traveller. I am dreamer. I am alive and in love with life.
I don't know what comes with tomorrow and I barely plan for it. I just plant seeds and day after day persistently baste my garden. I know fruits will come eventually, probably from the less expected plants.
Life taught me that I could get everything or have it all taken away. There's nothing secure. I know try to enjoy things for what they are, in the very present moment.
I've got clother and clother to inner peace when I started to forgive my very unperfect self which led me to make peace with others. I'll figured than breathing is good enough.
I'm thankful with life. Every step gives me opportunities to increase my knowledge and build my wisdom. And when it's tough, I learn a lot.
These last seven years, through travelling, and living in new places, I felt like I've never felt before. Achieving the bliss of being in the right place at the right moment, crying, being so deeply connected to the astonishing beauty of mother earth. And just growing up, learning from the wisdom and the generosity of the people I've met.
We haven't met yet, but I already like you... a lot.
I receive so many requests. I really want to help you but if you want to surf my couch, please show me that you've read my profile by adding "Merime" to your request.
Be true to yourself and to others. Live intensely, love deeply. It is the hardest but the only way to live life.
Build your experiences more than your regrets.
You don't meet the people you love. You recognise them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started with couchsurfing in South America in 2008. I loved it and kept doing it in USA, in France and in Australia. I tried to convert my friends to it.
This last six years, I got the opportunity to open my house to other travellers in Melbourne and to give back a bit of the generosity I received as a traveller.
I heard about couchsurfing when I travelled South America. I was heading to Chile where accomodations were much more expensive than in Bolivia and searching for a cheaper option. My first experience gave me so much more than a free accomodation that it definitely changed the way I looked a travelling.
The house I surfed in Santiago for my first experience was full of such welcoming and generous people. I just felt like home. From a few days stop, my plans there turned into a 3 weeks stay with a heartbreaking goodbye at the end.
This first couchsurfing experience blew my mind and changed my vision of the world. From then on I felt like I was part of a world fellowship.
All the couchsurfing experiences I’ve had since have been diverse and amazing. The people who hosted us were from so many different horizons, ages, backgrounds, and cultures - but with the same desire to share space, time, and friendship. The couchsurfing project is just such a better way to travel that I nowadays wouldn't travel any other way.
I'm passionate about music.
As a guitarist, singer, writer and composer, I recorded two albums. Check my website here: http://merime.org
I play various other percussion and string instruments, including Handpans and I try to make a living out of my music.
Tai Chi is another big part of my journey.
I practiced commitedly Vipassana meditation for a few years.
I consider myself a part of the world rainbow family.
I value friendship. I love people, women, cooking, cheese, good wine, mushrooms, having long conversations about life and the universe, laughing, bad jokes, camping and bonfires, hiking in the mountains, watching a good movie, reading a good book.
