ABOUT ME

I'm all about food en tasty stuff. I love making pie, cake, pasta, ... I'm not good at making the serious food (foie de gras etc) yet, but I do really want to learn how to cook like a real chef.

My dream is to visit Japan one day, hopefully very soon.

I love cities with lots of history, ancient buildings, grand palaces etc. I hope to win the lottery and buy an 18th century palace myself one day! :-)

Recently I've also been discovering cultfilms, which I like too but sometimes I just want to watch a nobrainer film. I like the David Lynch movies, Quentin Tarantino, I watch various anime as well.

Music is not my greatest occupation in life. I just listen whatever is on when I'm taking a shower. I can listen to alot though, from dance to gothic metal.

We have 3 major towers in Ghent, one of them is the cathedral of Saint-Bavo (also known as "Sint-Baafskathedraal"). It was built as the Saint Jan's church in 942, it wasn't until 1559 that the church became a cathedral. It changed it's name in 1539 from Saint Jan to Saint Bavo.
The tower is 89m high and it contains 7 bells, of which the largest one -Bavo- weighs 5500kg.
The greatest artwork in the cathedral is "het Lam Gods" of Jan Van Eyck, painted in 1432. You can visit a copy for free, for the real thing you have to pay.
Since 2005 the cathedral is under restauration.
