Chi sono

A note to newbie Couchsurfers on here- Put in some time and effort into your profile info, host searches and requests and you will be richly rewarded by being the best couchsurfer and host you can be- you will have amazing culture and travel experiences through this website.

CS is not about a free place to stay- it's culture and a community. Mahalo!!

CURRENT MISSION

To encounter new people, situations and things that will make me say... "what the hell I doing now???"

ABOUT ME

Creative type~ open-minded;eccentrics who love electronic and lots of other types of music, talking about any and all topics- shallow & deep, meeting new people, trying new things, and testing the limits of the imagination. Knowledge and experience seekers. I'm an ex-New Yorker, who has lived in Hawaii off and on since 1999. My husband Phil is from Hawaii and knows how to rock the aloha spirit! He has a heart of gold but zero tolerance for BS. We love to trade music, ideas, and network with others. We attract the craziest people and situations. We like it that way. I can also fall asleep anywhere... couches, floors, hammocks, closets... and will eat anything- try me!

PHILOSOPHY

We are alive to experience, learn, and give back. Put more positive vibes and energy into the universe and push the boundaries of what we "know". Embrace every experience and learn from it. Find humor in everyday life. Sometimes the most wretched travel moments make the best/ funniest stories later on! Give more than you take. When in nature, leave only footprints and take only photos. Live every day to the fullest!!!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're nice, honest people with a true desire to meet and learn from others, enhance the travel and hosting experience through a fun and helpful mutual exchange. We'd love to be able to show you around, party, cook up some good food or at least give some helpful tips on stuff to see/ do. We have a guest bedroom with a queen size bed, and a futon couch, so there's plenty of room!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Quezon City, The Philippines!
Saigon, Vietnam!
Melbourne, Australia!
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia!
Jogjakarta, Indonesia!
Jakarta, Indonesia!
Makati, The Philippines!
Osaka, Japan!
Kyoto, Japan!
Asheville, NC!
Birmingham, AL!
Tallahassee, FL!
Washington, DC!
Luodong, Taiwan!
Taoyuan, Taiwan!

The best kind of CS experience is to do a "full circle"... host someone and then go stay with them! I did this with Kristine from the Philippines. She stayed with me in Hawaii, then I went to go visit her. It was extra fun, because we already knew each other, and we had a chance to experience each other's home towns!

Another time, the house I was staying at flooded! 2 inches of water filled up 4 floors. I helped mop everything up with 2 other couchsurfers who were also staying there. I was glad I could help out when needed. That's what couchsurfing is about- helping others and sharing.

Thanks again to all of my awesome, wonderful hosts and guests! You are all truly fabulous people who made my travels SO SO SO much more fun!!! xoxo

Insegna, impara, condividi

I can show you the most amazing dive bars and hole in the wall restaurants.

Don't be afraid to talk with new people. That's the essence of travel.

Be safe, but take risks too! Rar!!!!

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

My parents taught me never to show up empty handed. I always bring a gift or treat my host to a meal or drinks. If you need help with something, and it's within my ability, consider it done. I also clean up after myself.
