About Me

REFUGEES WELCOME!

REQUESTS: IF YOU WANT TO STAY WITH ME, SEND A 'REQUEST' NOT A MESSAGE. IF YOU CANT SEND A REQUEST BECAUSE MY CALENDAR IS BLOCKED OUT, THAT MEANS IM NOT AVAILABLE TO HOST.

Alot of people like to think my name is "Helen/Hellen/Allen", but nah it's Ellen.

I'll spare the "I like to travel" monologue. Brief summary: I've been to a few places, and I want to go to more.
I would say I'm a pretty fair guest and an honest host :}

I'm a professional crazy lady: I try to live my life fun and fancy free and without shame. Laughter is my favorite bodily function, even if it hurts my face and belly sometimes. I can laugh at almost anything actually.

I lived in Spain for almost 2 years as an English language assistant and then 3 years in Germany as an English teacher. Now I'm hopping around Australia doing a working holiday and riding the rainbow train

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostels can be cool, but I'd rather share an experience with people who are either from or live in the place where I'm traveling. The experience of discovering the people who live in your destination is so rewarding. Couchsurfing isn't just about saving money for me, but for enjoying people's hospitality.

I also love hosting just as equally. Unfortunately my current situation doesn't allow me to host so flexibly or often, so feel very lucky if I'm able to accept!

I've only had 2 bad experiences so far where someone wanted to be my slave and another pervy guy who took my cigarettes out of my bag without me knowing. So, to avoid another uncomfortable experience , please don't ask to be my slave or go through my shit ;)

Interests

I love dancing to techno and house, under the influence or not ;)

One thing I love more is getting lost, whether that be a place or in my own thoughts. The journey of finding your "way".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have too many amazing experiences to just share one:

•Meeting one of the founders of Couchsurfing at a house party where I was couchsurfing at in San Francisco.

•Building impromptu tent in Olympic State park, where I toughed through a cold rainy night of hearing lots of mysterious footsteps, only the next day to meet a wonderful woman who I hitchhiked with all the way to Portland.

•Hiding in train bathrooms to avoid paying for a ticket.

•Being gifted a hair cut from a nice couple I met at a night club in Bordeaux.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to gobble like a turkey and some basic beatboxing.

I can also help you improve your English! It's my profession and I am not shy at all about correcting you, just as long as you give me permission to do so.

What I Can Share with Hosts

can cook feasts and uplift spirits, bring worldly well travelled funny energy
