About Me
ABOUT ME
I don't brag with clichés like "speaking several languages" or being "a citizen of the world". My resumé speaks for itself. At times, I am a man of few words. Other times I am a veritable storyteller -- it's easy to get me to speak, I just prefer not to start. Offer up some 'food for thought' or ask a good Q, and we'll talk each others' ears off. I'm probably the youngest 50+ you've ever met.
I have several jobs and many interests. My favorite is teaching "Clinical Empathy" at the Medical Faculty. It doesn't pay very well, but I have the feeling I'm doing something good for the world.
Don't be daunted by my sarcasm. You will learn to love it.
Here's the book I managed to publish: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CLK5KXN
MISSION
Travel, work, repeat.
PHILOSOPHY
I live by the Golden Rule. And I don't demand anyone's respect; I strive to deserve it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a guest I try to leave no physical footprints; only nice metaphysical ones.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of books. Favorite authors Calvino, Archer, Faulkner, Vonnegut, and Lawrence Block.
There's always music on at my place. Constantly.
Movies: the ones that keep us guessing: Memento, Usual Suspects, or heart-touchers like Shawshank, Incendies (1+1=1!), My Life as a Dog, My name is Khan. Also courtroom dramas, psychointrigue, mockumentaries, parodies like The Incredibles and This is Spinal Tap.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Zazen meditation is probably the best thing I know how to do.
Many months of backpacking before the days of CS, or even internet!
Teach, Learn, Share
I bet I can learn something from you. And if you use your ears well, you might learn something from me.
I can teach some finer points about body language and rhetoric, some esoteric stuff, some keyboard shortcuts, share my green tea. And I can explain most aspects of English grammar...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Listening and telling stories. Oh, and I cook!
Countries I’ve Lived In
China, Czech Republic, Netherlands, United States
