About Me

I am married, raising a son in the USA with my Filipina wife. We home school our son daily along with Suzuki violin practice.
ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY
Life is short and we only go around one time. Make the most of it. Be honest and truthful. Don't do harm to others. Every day is a new adventure.
The person who dies with the most experiences is the winner.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted people in the Philippines and in Florida. Sometimes I use Couchsurfing to find people to write to in areas that I want to learn about using this forum to establish pen pals.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences have been very positive. It's nice to have good conversation with foreigners. When I was living in the Philippines I hosted a number of people all of whom I kept in touch with by email afterwards. A great way to make friends from far away places.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read, but prefer better literature to those mass produced books on the market. I also am fond of non-fiction reading. We love the music festivals. Sometimes you can find us volunteering at them doing the recording and logging as we did at the 2015 Florida Folk Festival. Love Cajun dancing and music. Symphony. Old Rock. Bluegrass. Jazz. Blues.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Had a child at age 60. Traveled the world while entertaining my friends with my journey. Continued to learn, read and remain intellectually active. Had a colonoscopy without pain killers so I could see the real time video. Sky dived. Scuba Dived.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've well traveled and almost always as a back packer. First trip was hitch hiking all over Europe in the 70's.
Last trip was hitch hiking all over SE Asia with my wife.
Loved Laos the most. Pristine mountains and rivers.
Enjoyed Honduras and Guatemala. Stayed with Indigenous people in Guatemala up in the highlands. Nice!
In the Philippines I built 2 kayaks and paddled to remote islands. The further OUT you go the better the people are.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food and conversation. Experiences. A different philosophy.
