ABOUT ME

I love promoting areas where I live. Showing visitors the hidden joys of the areas. I no longer live on a boat in Cartagena but that doesn't stop me from participating in the area I now live.
My husband & I had sailed the Caribbean for the past 21 yrs. and not only have stopped to smell the roses, we have planted a few, watched them grow, and then smelled them. Unfortunately he passed away in January and I am trying to reconnect with friends and life. I'm looking forward to travelling more and new adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that everyone is placed on this earth to teach us something. We have to be open to learning. All cultures have something to offer and I personally don't choose to interact with closed minded bigots.

By enhancing a travelers view and impression of the area where I lived.
Involving myself in volunteer projects not only in the arts but also in the education of adventurers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted numerous people while living in Cartagena, Colombia and everyone I have met has brought a new piece of information to the puzzle of my life for which I am grateful.

I have yet to be hosted.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most non violent movies. I have seen some great films made outside the U.S., particularly during the Cartagena Film Festival. My music tastes run from Classical to hip hop but not to rap. My favorite singers currently are Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Juanes, Nora Jones, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Shakira, the Buena Vista Social Club. Many of the newer artists have fantastic lyrics if you listen to the words. My current book I am reading is "the Audacity of Hope" by Barrack Obama. Prior to that I read "Tales of a Female Nomad and subscribe to Rita's website and philosophy. Freakonomics and Super Freakonomics. What a hoot. However I enjoy mysteries, biographies, & novels. Some of the authors I enjoy are Janet Evanovich, John Grisham, Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, Maya Angelou & the writer of the Dirk Pitt series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the Great Wall of China. Crossed from Athens Greece to Ft. Lauderdale Florida as crew on a sailboat. Walked the Bridge over River Kwai, Rode an elephant in Thailand. Stood at the Acropolis. competed in ballroom dancing in Lebanon.

I can teach ballroom dancing, & sailing, I can share the information I have learned through volunteering.
