About Me

Hola, comunidad! 🌀

Hello, community! People call me «Mapi» and I am a fan of living stories and writing them. I have a big love for freedom, social justice, and poetry. I cannot conceive a life without space for movement and continuous discovery. In University, I studied psychology and I have dedicated my career mainly to working for the public sector of my country on projects for development and social inclusion. I am also, in an independent way, a psychotherapist trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), a therapeutic approach based in scientific evidence. After a deeply difficult time in my life, I seek to spread my wings again and surrender to the mysteries of the universe and my life within it. 🌀

☀️

-Backpacking alone for three months in Chile with a $400 travel bag and returning to my country with $150. (I did a lot of hitchhiking and washed dishes!)

-The pandemic trapped me on an island in the Philippines where I spent the first month living among the trees and sleeping in a tent without Wi-Fi or electricity or gas for cooking. All food cooked on firewood :) Then I moved to a house near the sea. 🏝

-Spend two nights in a cruise suite in Panama. FREE!

-Raise money to help elderly people who live in extreme poverty in Peru without access to water, electricity and sewage. (The inequality that exists in Latin America is painful).

-Do the trek to the Ausangate snow-capped mountain (Cusco) after consuming wachuma (a type of medicinal cactus in the Andean worldview).
