ABOUT ME

I like it when I smile at strangers and they smile back.

PHILOSOPHY

Figuring it out!

Trying to be the best person that i can be in order to share these gifts that i have been given.

Trying to love more, to be love more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first CSed in Japan years ago, had a great time, and wanted to give back to the CS community. So now I host whoever happens to pass through my area. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfed in Japan summers ago and met beautiful people who challenged me to become more open and loving by example. :)

And now I try to be an awesome host. I think I'm alright at it.

Interests

I love listening to people's stories, and learning different things. I love dancing, exploring, moving, imagining, creating, crafting, reading good books.

Random adventures are the best.

Music, Movies, and Books

Happiness of the Katakuris by takashi miike is one of my FAVORITE films, (japanese horror + musical + claymation!), then Me and You and Everyone We Know, Miyazaki films and a bunch of others, though those are probably my top favorites. I don't watch movies that often--not due to avoidance, but just because I just never think of it, i guess.

music: anything that i can dance to, fast or slow or whatever. things that move me, inside (and usually, as a result, outside, haha).

Books: Jane Eyre, the Ender series, anything by Banana Yoshimoto, Harry Potter, Sabriel series, anything by Miranda July, Paulo Coelho, Leo Buscaglia

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"started" an interpretive dance "pit" at a concert at school to some mellow-string-indie musician (andrew bird) at a school concert. Just a bit of prodding and ignoring-playing-along-with frat boys can do a lot, apparently. :D

After being a person who hated ANY kind of physical activity as a kid...

I ran 50k. And then did it again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach(remind you how you do): some Japanese, basic juggling (more in the future), a fun game for waiting in long lines at disneyland/wherever, how to stop hiccups, some butoh dance exercises that will get you in touch with parts of your body you were never aware of!

would love to learn anything!
