Looking for travel buddy to hit Japan late Dec 2012 Snowboarding

Hey! I'm looking for someone or a group who would be interested in going to Japan around xmas through to mid January to hit the slopes, either at Hakuba, Niseko or Shiga Kogen. Possibly a few different places. I'm looking at travelling to Tokyo around xmas and then heading to the snow around new years for 2-3 weeks. I'm an intermediate to advanced level boarder, with my own gear, looking to improve and wanting some serious pow pow action. Happy to travel with guys or girls or a group. I'm from Newcastle and would be leaving from Sydney so if based there all the better. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers Andy

Hey Andy,

I am travelling to Japan in January and will be in Tokyo from the 1st. After the 10th I'm meeting my sister in law and heading to Nozawa Onsen, but before the 10th will be just travelling on my own. I've done a bit of research and have been looking into staying in Myoko. it's less crowded and touristy than Shiga Kogen and Hakuba. it also sounds like they have more off piste and powder whereas Hakuba is definitely a piste only resort. they are really strict on ducking ropes and things there. Did you know that some off Shiga Kogen is skier only as well?

Anyway I have been to Niseko before which is fantastic but a bit harder to get to from the mainland. if you think you might be keen to head to Myoko Kogen in early January and want a riding buddy I'll be there. I haven't sorted anything but my flights just yet though. Let me know if you might be interested in meeting up. liz
