Any updates regarding traveling in and around Ouagadougou in relation to the latest attack in Ouagadougou. Sad news unfortunately.

NB: Appreciate any info and advises on traveling south of Banfora toward Cote d´Ivoire (Korhogo area). It seems like most people cross from Burkina Faso into Ghana or reversed.

My embasy told me to avoid that area because of some violence against tourists in the year 2015 but that was nothing organized or terroristic. But yes, a lot of tourists are in Banfora for the cascades. And it is surely save, compared to the North and east Region I would say. No terroristic acts have ever appeared, as far as I know. But if you want to be sure, why not call your embasy?
