December 2025, Last Minute Road Trip.

Looking to leave around late 9 or early 10 December & be back between 17-20 Dec 2025.

I want to head somewhere for my birthday & not sure where, & can take 1 or maybe 2 people, to split costs & share good conversation, hopefully some cheap adventure / good times with.

We would share petrol costs. & groceries for along the way to make our own meals.

I am on a tight shoestring budget, so we will most likely stay mostly at free camping sites in State Forests. State forest camping (in NSW at least), is 100% free & no booking.

People of my age (over 40) & nationality (Australian), have very, very few dorm accommodation options, outside YHA (which is too expensive), so may not have much opportunity for that. So, if you know of any non-discriminatory hostel dorms along the way to wherever & back, let me know, we can stay there a night or 2.

National Parks everywhere, require National Parks Pass + Pre-booking online with booking fee (even their free campsites require - so not free & can't just show up for a random stay). I will be having a birthday in this time too
