Time of the year I would suggest from November to about March is summer so temperatures are a little warmer, but more likely to rain. From about April till September is our winter, so its a little chillier, not snowing weather, but definitely cold.

Places I would recommend with regards to travelling South Africa, is definitely go to Cape Town, it is beautiful there and the night life is quite busy. Durban has Ushaka, which is a marine world. Other places would include Gold Reef City - theme park, Sun city - Holiday Resort, The Kruger National Park - Experience wildlife and possibly the big 5. There are a bunch of cultural tours in and around Johannesburg. I would suggest you search for those to see which one would interest you the most.

Transport wise, either rent a vehicle, or you are able to catch ubers to most places. This give you the ability to travel without worrying about a care.

With regards to food, we have a whole assortment of it. I would say definitely try biltong and wors, possible pap (mielie meal)...um not to sure what other foods you would like to try.

It depends where in South Africa you want to visit. I am from Cape Town, a popular tourist destination. There are many things to do. There are beautiful beaches, cultural tours, markets, shopping, a variety of food from fusion, contemporary to traditional dishes. You can do outdoor activities...swimming, cycling, hiking, mountain climbing, shark cage diving, paragliding. There is a also a nice light life. There really is something for everyone in Cape Town.
