What to do on New Years Eve if you're new in LA without connections?

Hi, I recently moved to LA and haven't made many friends. The ones I have are going to Las Vegas for New Years. So I'm sad and alone. What could someone like me be doing tomorrow? What's a good place to go to? I looked into Grand Park, but it's supposed to rain :( And advice is much appreciated :)

gee its tough especially with some heavy rain hitting tomorrow evening, You can always find a private party but its always good to know at least one person there just for safetys sake, san diego is close but then again the fireworks will be cancelled there due to rain. Not sure what part of town you are in, if you let me know I can check and see what is happening nearby

There are a few events here on couchsurfing. Come on out to those. I met a lot of people by going to events when I first moved to LA a year ago. They're all nice. Except Aiden. Screw that guy :-P

I would suggest Meetup.com, as there are fun events listed where you can meet some great new people. Go on "hang outs" and check out the events on Couch Surfing. So many events to choose from and many people like yourself that don't have friends or relatives getting together. Best to start looking early, if you plan to go to a bar or club highly recommend going in before 10pm. Anyway, hope you find an event and have fun🎉🎊🎉🎆🎇

Grand Park downtown should be pretty good. I don't think it will be raining around midnight. There will be lots of people so take the metro red line. It's free all night long!
