Best "nature activities" to do outside city in November
I'm from Argentina, and I'm looking for something to do in St. Petersburg or nearby. Someone told me about to do ski at the "Gulf of Finland". I would really appreciate the info + the prices.
Greetings!

Hello! In recent years in November more needs water skiing at the "Gulf of Finland". Be ready))
The weather in November is so terrible here that it's really difficult to recommend any type of "nature activities" in this time of year, unless you like cold wind with drizzling rain while the temperature is about 5 degrees Celsius.
By the way ice cover sets in only in December, and if the winter is warm even in January, so in November it's possible to skiing at the Gulf of Finland only if you use water ski. November like December, at least it's first part, actually are the most horrible months here, so if you don't want to leave this beautiful city with bad impressions you should think twice before visiting St. Petersburg in this time of year.
Generally about skiing. Actually skiing is more interesting in the forest, but it's possible to ski across the Golf, more interesting to kite there. As I briefly take a look through web one day rent of ski is about 400 rub per day, it's here http://www.pansportsmen.ru/page/ski-rental.html , 4 hours rent of kite is about 4000 rub, which is really a lot because you need also snowboard or mountain skis for kiting.
except for the terrible weather in November , the longitude of the day is 7 houres Sunrise is around 9 a.m, sunset is around 16 p.m.
November and April are the two most challenging months for any nature activities - no grass, no snow, all dirt. But that's the fun! I have come to love November for the exclusive adventure opportunities it offers.
Some ideas: Random Race (29 oct) -- they launch weather balloons with GPS beacons, and where these drop become checkpoints to visit. This is a jeep or cycling orienteering. http://www.randomrace.ru/
Climb the rocks in Karelia, if you know the technique! There are occasional open climbing events, but these aren't yet announced.
Norway Park! This rope park is a must-visitif you like that sort of thing. http://norwaypark.ru
My personal favorite is cross-country and off-the-beaten-path sightseeng cycling, vk.com/sand_brand. Later in the month first frosts come, and we are ready to roll for miles over freshly frozen, perfectly flat swamp fields. When else would that be possible? I love November!
For a calendar of orienteering events, see here: http://o-site.spb.ru/calendar.php
Fell free to contact me for any further advice, perhaps we could do something crazy together!
Plenty of different walking trips (too late to water trips and too early to skiing ones) in Len.reg. and Karelia. Out of the city the weather is not so terrible. Write me for details.
In my photos you can see a couple from last November trip.
Hello. The weather in November can be really bad. So for a real nature it can be a trouble. What I recommend is a 6 hours trip from Sestroreck to Zelenogosk along a sea coast. It is around 25 km. You can get there by a local train from Finlandskiy railway station and get back with another line.
Rozhdestveno. Both the museum of Nabokov with very good museum people and nice nature around. There was made part of BCC serial "War and peace" by Tolstoy novel. Bolkonsky's house - it was Rozhdestveno.
