Hi, I went there long time ago when I was younger but I think only a whole morning or maybe evening for the sunset but a whole day will be too long I think. Check the time opening and closing ^^

Hi, you could easily stay an entire day : 3-4h in the garden (with Le Petit Trianon and Le Grand Trianon) and 2h in the castle.

I suggest you to begin with the garden (buy a sandwich before, there are benches, it's very pleasant if it's sunny) and go to the castle in the middle of afternoon, it's less crowded.

Hello. It definitely takes less than a day, unless you want to see every square inch of the place :) Plus there are many other interesting places to visit in and around Paris. Have plenty of fun during your stay!!!

You need more than a day. The Castle is to be seen if you have never been there and where there is the longest queue. A must see is the Hamlet of Marie Antoinette and the Petit Trianon, which you reach after a wonderful stroll along the grand canal. This part is not crowded and you can also just visit these. It is actually wonderful. Marie Antoinette actually asked artists to build an ideal and completely fake peasant village, with a lighthouse and a lake. The actual peasants were actually starving to death while she was acting like one. By the way, the TV series "Versailles" has not a lot to do with history. If you are into history, then everything is a must see.

My recommendation: Arrive as early as possible. There are LOTS, LOTS, LOTS of buses with people coming to Versailles everyday. I would say that the minimum time required is 5 hours (only the Castle) , if you take in consideration from the time you take the train until you come back to Paris. As people said, you have queue to enter, sometimes it is difficult to walk inside the Castle because there are to much people inside. In my experience the earlier the better.

As you have seen, Versailles is a huge thing, you also have, The fountains, Le Petit Trianon, Le Grand Trianon, and THE GARDEN itself is a massive thing. I would say that it can take you the whole day if you really want to see the whole Versailles in a calm way. To me, seeing only the Castle is not a good business, because you have already invested time and money to go there, and probably the garden is much more beutiful that the Castle. Bring a sandwich and some water and take full advantage of this place. If you arrive early you should be back in Paris around 5pm, you will still have time to see some other thing here.

The city of Versailles is also worth for a visit and to enjoy tea time

There is a lot to see but definitely not a full day. The palace takes just a short tour and the garden a few hours walk. The Marie Antoinette takes another walk and you mustn’t miss it. But the city is así cute for a late dinner or lunch. So you should plan for a day in versaille city

Hello! For me, it takes more than one day! The castle is a "must see" but i definitly recommend the Marie Antoinette's domain !!! More intimate, more beautiful, a lot to see... Then the castle gardens' obviously ;)

I ma parisien so I've been multiple times in Versailles and I definitely advise you to take the whole day to visit the castle but also the gardens ! You can't go to Versailles without seeing the gardens too, and don't forget the gardens of the queens (that's the part I prefer). Last thing, come at the opening or even before and start with the castle before it to be too crowded ! Perfect for a sunny day. Hope you'll enjoy it !
