I am planning for a two week vacation in Port of Spain and Tobago Island starting Aug 17th. I saw the weather forecast for the region while rain is predicted for all the days I will be there it would be good to know how the actual rainy days are to plan my trip accordingly. Thanks Suraj

It never rains continuously. If it does rain either its at night. Or if it rains in the day its never for long. but it stops and may rain again.

Yeah, the rain is pretty intermittent. It would rain in the early afternoon, and then the sun would come out for the rest of the day. And they're warm showers, so it's not too terrible. :)

To echo the comments above, the rain is usually intermittent. Sometimes, it can be a drizzle and other times it can seem like a tropical storm, but usually it will rain and then clear up. A pretty rainy day can see heavy showers throughout the day. This past week we've seen heavy rainfall which then clears up and turns sunny for the remainder of the day.

Continuous rainfall for days on end is not common (I've personally never experienced it) and would be highly unusual for T&T.

What is more probable is flash flooding. In some areas, even with a relative short period of rainfall, there can be flooding. So be aware and alert as to the areas that you will be traversing, and find out if they are prone to flooding.
