We're considering the possibility of organizing the next Portugal/Spain CS meeting in Portugal for 2011.

This is a group to discuss that. Nothing more.

about the name: people complained about the name "Iberian meeting". I think I covered most alternatives so everyone is included.

Visual Art Project "Lovers and Leavers"

Hi,

I am Nafis, I am doing my MFA in Photography at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED Madrid) on scholarship. My email is: (nafisahmedgazi@ied.edu) and my number is (+34631962413)

I am working on the visual art project “Lovers and Leavers” which is the final project for school.

In “Lovers and Leavers” I study the chemistry of Leavers and Leavers. I photograph participants in their intimate moment and private space. I ask participants to be sexual with each others, sensual, erotic, reflecting their mood, longing, exposing their beautifully enriching vulnerability which also reflects their power and strength.

I try to build up a rapport and connection is important for me to make the pictures, so that a comfortable space develops for things to be acted out. The participants feel confortable projecting for the camera, and I feel comfortable exploring that projection without the pressures of reality.

I also ask participants of ‘Lovers and Leavers’ to suggest me postures, gestures and any idea they would like to include. Sometimes I take visual references from Paintings by Lucian Freud, Jenny Seville, Duarte Vitoria, Amedeo Modigliani inspires me – if you like them too, you can suggest me your favorite artworks.

I also ask participants to give me a token – something which expresses their feelings, longing, desires, fantasies, pain, agony, stories, it can be drawing, a mark, word, words, statement, some lines, anything – there are no rules. I will use them as installations along with the images.

You are all welcome to participate. I am looking for diversity. Your sexual orientations can be any. You can be single. You can be in any form of relationships, Your desires can be any. I would like to learn about you, your fantasies, your longings, your stories and build up visual fragmented narratives.

I travel to produce imageries for the project. Lovers and Leavers who have participated are from Spain, Netherlands, Australia, Denmark, Italy, Norway.

I am expanding the project and would like to include you in the art project.

Apart from being an art student, I also conduct lectures for documentary photography at Danish School of Media and Journalism in Denmark and IED Madrid.
