"B'Care" an International NGO fighting AIDS

On 7th June 2008, 9 participants including crew members are going to embark an incredible journey for 69 days across the continents, for the first time in the history of AIDS awareness. These adventurous bikes ride in the roadways of North and Latin America with coverage of approx. 4600 Km, across Canada, USA and Mexico. The riders kick start the bike ride at Toronto, Canada 7th June 2008 and culminate at Mexico City, by 3rd August 2008, International AIDS Conference, (IAC) Mexico City 2008.

The importance of AIDS RIDE 2008 is the connectivity between the two International AIDS Conferences (IAC), from Toronto to Mexico, where the next IAC takes place, a concept event for the first time in the history of IACs . The AIDS Ride 2008 is also an important way to raise visibility about the continuing devastation of the AIDS pandemic. It also builds continuity between two major events in the HIV/AIDS community. The AIDS Ride 2008 is a visual manifestation of the community’s promise of accountability to commitments made during the Toronto International AIDS Conference, in the hope that the 2008 International AIDS Conference in México City will achieve them. Thus the AIDS RIDE 2008 will culminate at the first International AIDS Conference to be held in Latin America, AIDS RIDE 2008 is expected to increase awareness of the disease and its impact throughout the region and across the North America and Latin America, with the bike marathon.

The first PLWHA on board for complete distance riding from Toronto to Mexico City is Giri Kumar Makarla, who had imbibed the "Terry Fox" model. Mr. Giri has been living with HIV for more than 13 years and had been ready with his bike to hit the roads of North America, bridging the gap between the two biggest events, AIDS 2006 Toronto and AIDS 2008, Mexico City. This is actually a re-birth or "renaisance" for Mr. Giri Makarla who experienced the most complex manifestations of HIV and HIV associated diseases, mal functioning of multi organs, near to his death sentence.

But "today he is alive" and nomatterwhat, he wants to fulfill his dream of connecting Toronto to Mexico, to raise awareness and funds, to maintain continuity and to organise implementation plans thus bridging the gap between the above two biggest conferences. Participants belonging to different nationalities other than US, Canada and Mexico: Only selected members from different nationalities other than US, Canada and Mexico, for short or long or complete distances are requested to make necessary arrangements of documents for the visa procurement. GIPA: The policy of GIPA, greater involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS is significant for us and thus the registration fee is waived for them. (FREE registration for PLWHAs in AIDS RIDE 2008)

Another important notice that PLWHAs: whoever do the complete ride from Toronto to Mexico City shall be nominated for FREE registration (Only 5 limited registrations available, first come first basis) at the International AIDS Conference, Mexico City, as AIDS RIDE 2008 will culminate by then to ignite AIDS 2008.

-Preliminary Registration: Registration is complete only after the payment of registration fee that shall be effective pretty soon ($ 50 Canadian). Registration for PLWHAs if FREE

-Partnership with local NGOs: Selection based on the potentiality, zeal, complementary style/ supporting NGO, down to earth NGO with no political wills and fancies, details of the NGO of the interested party, proof of special skills and interest in participation.

-News update/ periodical press release/ Media partners coordination; periodical postings, in local city/ online groups, local media, connecting with International Media and spreading as much as possible.

Señor Giri ha estado viviendo con el VIH durante más de 13 años y se había preparado con su bicicleta golpeó a los caminos de América del Norte, cerrar la brecha entre los dos principales acontecimientos, Toronto SIDA 2006 y el SIDA de 2008, Mexico City. Today is World AIDS Day, I request you for a minute......A min of silence.....pl closing your eyes.....keeping your thoughts for the lost victims....pray God for their soul to rest in peace. Well So blissful :) , thank you for the pray, now it's time to "THINK AIDS", my friends, think for the current victims and do something in your daily life. All of us are affected, believe me :) We hope you do, this DO is for the friends who work on different subjects.

B'Care is unveiling an awesome, adventurous and a spectacular project, that can prove consistency and sustainability in the fight against AIDS. The is project AIDS Ride 2008, a ride from Toronto to Mexico. The project started now after the International AIDS Conference, Toronto and culminates at the International AIDS Conference 2008, Mexico. Thus is a connecting bridge amidst 2 conferences with an aim to remind and re-remind the world their responsibilities and promises to combat the pandemic. However, this CRAZY bike ride is from Toronto to Mexico where, definately GUTS does matter! The aim of this project is HIV/AIDS awareness/education, Universal Access for treatment, Care and Support. This involves channelised strategic plans that can create or generate funds for B'Care, whilst campaigning. A ride from from Toronto to Mexico doesn't mean a rider has to ride all the way from Toronto to Mexico. Any rider can join at any location or nodal point and can leave at any other nodal point, depending on the capacities and strengths or time availability etc. The route map is revealed in the site, http://noumads.tripod.com/

We have some "COLORS" to make the event more attractive! We are co organising "mural activities/ International Peace Tiles" at all the nodal points or the stop overs, in a community center or a hospital or a schools. U can make it more colorful if u have some, we mean also add your suggestions, thoughts, ideas that can make this project more BRIGHT, we welcome support as well :)
