why be a member of this group or CS if you have issues with race . the point Cs is that you meet other cultures races . Every time Request a couch in this region it's Declined. overtime . the only time it was accepted was by another black guy.

My name is Zaida a Muslim name, but apart from that, I am Spanish, white and an experienced CSurfer with plenty references and I never found a host either, but I always got nice and polite answers. I don't think it is a matter of race, I think there are not many active Couchsurfers in this area. Just look at their references and the threads in this group... There is not much movement going on.

i have asked 8 hosts all have declined , one wanted money 20 a night jesus !

Report the one asking for money at it is against the terms of use. I have been going to Murcia since I was six and couchsurfing since I was 22. I have never been accepted by any host and they rarely answer any thread. Just have a look in this group. One of the last threads is mine, about a rollerskating event. No one came either. 2years so I was looking for events and no success either. It is not a matter of race. Murcia is not an active region or maybe they just don't like us or there is no feeling. It is not compulsory to host everone

I agree with Xena, I guess it is not a matter of being racist as members in this community are quite open minded, you might have been unlucky so far. MURCIA is not that big and in terms of couchsurfer hosts actually available the possibilities are not as many as it may seem. We receive Erasmus students, auxiliary teachers, master students and students doing their trainings plus a few tourists here and there, so sometimes hosts might feel overwhelmed by the amount of requests, at least that was my case a few years ago. I no longer live there although I'm subscribed to the group and I guess for some of the older members their situation might have change along the years too. I know this group has been active for a few years but as time passes things change, sorry to hear that this is not working as it used to but there are many things going on in Murcia, you just need to find the right group. Thanks a million! After so many years, I have plenty friends outside CS, and I rather rent a place as I am there a way to often. But as I am an active cs, I like to attend CS meetings wherever I go. I hope the true CS spirit is back to Murcia. It also happened in Madrid due to the huge amount of freeloaders and the lot of companies using the CS events to advertise their business. I wish it goes back to sharing and caring

I have a guest in Murcia at my friend house without asking me money it was a good experience.
