Need a hotel near the airport!

Hey guys, I am coming from Europe to CA, Sacramento and I need to stay somewhere overnight with my sister. I will be coming at the night of the 9th of June and want to get a cheap but extremely safe and clean hotel as close to the airport as it is possible. Just for that night. Any suggestions? :)

I'd go with the hostel in the city. It's not next to the airport, but it's cheap and safe.

Agree with Turner, go with the hostel. Hotels near the airport in Natomas area of Sacramento will run close to $150/night while the hostel is about $32/person. The main hostel is in downtown Sacramento and you only need to take one bus directly from the airport to a bus stop very near the hostel (at J & 8th str which is about 5 mins walk away). Bus takes about 35 to 40 mins.

Depending on when you arrive or leave, you are close enough to explore Old Sacramento and midtown Sacramento during the day or evening.

Hey guys, thanks so much! What I do not like about hostels is that you have to share your room and take care of your things extremelly well for the lack of safety. I have checked the website you have enclosed and was suprised that in hostels you have private rooms too. I will probably get something from the website. Ruta, if you google "Sacramento airport hotels," you should see a map of the hotels and their proximity to the airport.

Paul, Good Nite Inn is on Howe Avenue, and that is not near the airport at all.

Also, in general, Ruta, you tend to get what you pay for in the States. Granted, hotels near the airport may be more expensive, but in general ... the cheapest hotels may be less desirable areas. Since you're on a "couch surfing" site, why not see if there's a couch available?

Great suggestions. The bus may be iffy - particularly if you are arriving in the evening. Cabs are pretty expensive but you can get a shared super shuttle or Uber/Lyft. Then you could take the bus (YoloBus) back. http://www.yolobus.com/news/airportservice.php
