Cool places to live?

Hi guys!

I will be moving to Birmingham early december and I am looking for a cool place to live. I would prefer to live a bit more alternatively than your everyday buy/rent accomodation. Does anyone has any good tips? Also, if you know anyone who is letting a nice place for one tennant (studio/flat), advice would be great. I am a theatre/politics professional, who is very sociable, creative and up for a laugh :)

there was a similar discussion a few days ago. with most neighborhoods offering different things to different people, it's very personal and one's suggestion could be your miss. try the CS accomedation page, http://www.spareroom.co.uk/ , http://uk.easyroommate.com/ , http://www.gumtree.com/ , zoopla.co.uk and google.co.uk for agents good luck, that's all i got :)

Hi Jorine,

On the face of it I would suggest looking into the following areas:

Moseley - village vibe. Creative people tend to circulate here. Fairly expensive. Kings Heath - cheaper slightly grittier alternative to Moseley. Stirchley - grittier still, but cheap and 'up and coming' apparently. Small creative community and benefits from a train station (Bournville)

In terms of city centre I would look into Digbeth or the Jewellery Quarter.
