Hi Cecile, Thanks for your answer! it's for work, it's in Tourcoing. I don't know if it would be better to live in Lille and travel everyday or to stay in T directly. For June I already booked one room in T, but for the other months I'll see. Where do you live? Do you think it's too far to travel everyday from lille?

I work in Tourcoing and lived there for about 3 years. Now I live in Lille city center and go to work by train (I live really close to Lille train station and work close to Tourcoing train station and it's a 15 min commute so it's ideal). Depending on where your place of work is in Tourcoing, you can also take the undeground (metro) or the tram but then it's a longer commute (about 30min from Lille). I think it's good that you're staying in Tourcoing for the first few weeks, just so you can settle and see the city for yourself. I like living in Lille better, cause there's not much to do in Tourcoing. You can also look for a place that's halfway through, so you're close to both (anywhere on the tram track between Tourcoing and Lille is fine, though closer to Lille is better if you ask me). The closer you get to Lille, the higher the prices, though.

the fast metro system is reaching just to the Belgium border... even trains in this metropole stopping in the 3 cities... So find an affordable place at a for you attractive area because any of these cities will do it: Tourcoing Lille Roubaix are in one bus train metro network. Give yourself the time, it works better once you are arrivedin this metropole of North-France... Buy you a day ticket fr metro and explore addresses and get around. You can stay on arrival at a couchsurfing or airBnB place for a few days even a week till you find your place.
