The future of CS...and " No Impact Living" can it work together?

I have been thinking about is more and more how this could possibly fit together.

I know that a lot of us CS'ers are in the forefront of environmentally awareness and/but we also have a passion for traveling. How can we try to live out both our passions, to travel and to live in a sustainable way for the environment?

The reason why I cut it here is because I really believe that this is the way the future will look like and how will a organization like CS survive that future?

I thought it might be best to talk just a little about how I try to unite these passions in my life.

First of I actually don't travel only for fun but I do have fun when I have to travel. And then I offset my carbon footprint. But this is only a beginning and we all know that the earth can last even if we all start doing only the basics.

I also try now to buy as little as I can of "stuff", http://digg.com/environment/The_Story_of_Stuff_with_Annie_Leonard_7, but instead enjoy the local food as way to commemorate the trip and I take loads of pictures.

Well there is a lot more that I do and can do but now I like to hear from you and how do you think this future will look

Thank you for both of these links! I found them both insightful, and have shared them with my friends on Facebook.

I think CS goes hand in hand with living in a more sustainable way, because it promotes the idea of living as a community, sharing and learning together.

The impression I get is that people are easily persuaded to be consumers because they feel alienated, anxious and insecure.

When there is a strong sense of community, and a good feeling towards and from other people, there is less fear, and less need to consume.

In that way, we don't need to consume the planet, and we can all live happily ever after.

I also like the way CS puts on display some of the huge number of lovely people there are in the world. It reminds me that we are the majority, and that our perfect world we dream of is only a small step away.
