Hi Alice,

I actually visited Wroclaw briefly this summer, beautiful place! Which days are you in DC? I could possibly show you around. As for 'must sees' most of it is centrally located around the national mall, which is the large green area with the majority of the monuments on it. I recommend starting at the Arlington Cemetery (where our war dead are buried), crossing the memorial bridge towards the Lincoln memorial (monument to one of our greatest presidents). Then move straight towards the Capitol (where our congress is held). You will pass by the WW2 memorial, the Vietnam war memorial, the Washington Monument (giant pointy thing in center of city), you can swing by the white house, then continue towards Capitol. If you get the chance I recommend taking a tour of the Capitol, to do that you need to get there either very early, or right before it closes as lines are shortest then.

I also recommend seeing the American History Museum and the Air and Space museum. They are very very cool. In the American History museum, you will see original American flags, statues, and a good general overview of our country. In the Air and Space museum you will see original aircraft and get a good overview of the contribution of the USA to air and space travel. You will see the original Apollo capsule that traveled to the moon!
