Hi, so if you wanna go to Merapi, i hink you should use your own transportation. Because the public transportation which ahead to Merapi is not available anymore. You an rent motorbike or car in Jogja. Motorbike cost Rp 45-60k, and car cost Rp 200-250k. Usually, you should show and give some id card to the rental as a bail. Yaniva's right. You have to rent. The usual rent price is as she described. You can then head to kalikuning/kaliadem area. From there you can go by jeep or trail bike. Both are not free. I forgot the price for the trail bike, but the jeep can costs from 300k to 500k rupiahs per jeep. So it's better if you go there with a group to share the cost.

Hi, What I think, you can take GOJEK/GO Car to go to the jeep camp or you can rent bike 50-75k IDR per 24 hours. then you can take jeep. Jeep start from 300k for short trip 1,5-2hrs ride to 500k 3hrs ride
