Exploring Banja Luka

19th to 22nd of august I’m gonna be in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a spontaneous solo trip trying to explore the city and it surroundings and experience the most local life possible. I’ll be happy to meet with locals or any other traveler heading there.. Hit me up if you’d be down to meet and hangout, or if you have any tips of things to do/visit (I'm a big adrenaline junkie, so anything crazy, I'm in) :) I'm also a photographer, so it would be great if you could suggest some nice picture spots

Hi Ella I hope you’ll have a great time on your trip. Nature is one of Banja Luka’s strong points (along with food, of course 😁). A lot of the great places however are a bit outside Banja Luka though, like Plivsko jezero (lake). Since you love adrenaline you should definitely try out rafting. Actually world rafting championship 2022 was held right there. Hiking is also pretty popular, you could try our local hill Banj Brdo, or the mountain Kozara. You could also try jumping with a parachute. It’s nightlife is also pretty good. You should definitely visit the city’s fortress Kastel which is pretty popular spot for photography. The people know english and are generally very welcoming so you should have no problem with meeting new people to show you around as long as you are polite and positive. :)
