Hi everyone, I am a med student coming doing a rotation at UNC hospitals starting august 20th and I would love to live close to/on UNC campus or with students. However, I will be staying for one (maybe two) months only so official housing doesn't apply for me and I haven't found anything on rotating room. Does anyone have any ideas where else to find a room? thanks in advance ! lena

The best way, as Doug pointed out, is to sublease a place. You can find it on Craigslist, or a better option is to use dukelist, in case you have friends with Duke is to search for you, or contact UNC housing and ask about your options.

I'm actually looking for a temporary roommate I live in Carrboro which is super close to Chapel Hill and near the free bus line that gets you to UNC. If you don't mind that I have a 7 year old it would be great to have you. If you're interested send me a message so we can discuss fees etc.

Hi Lena, A friend has a large house with several bedrooms in downtown Carrboro, just a couple miles from UNC. She rents by the night and/or month. Very flexible. You can find her information on AirBNB. Look for the listing that says "Enjoy Being Right In Town!" Good luck and welcome to NC!
