Resurrection pass trail July 2024, 3-4 days between 10.7. -14.7./15.7.

Hi,

during my stay in Alaska this summer I would love to go the Resurrection pass trail, however I am alone, and I do not want to be eaten by the bears. I am looking for anybody who would like to go with me so we could be at least two. I expect the trail could be done in 3-4 day going from the Hope to Cooper Landing. Sleeping in the tent, if the weather forecast is favorable, alternatively in cabins, if they are available. I will go from Anchorage, and I also need to return to Anchorage. I expect to use some shuttle service going to the trail and back.

Hi there. First, it’s very unlikely you’d find a shuttle service from Anchorage to Hope. I’ve hitchhiked a lot so you may have to resort to that. Red Eye Rides could get you to/from Cooper Landing and Anchorage (but not Hope). I’d recommend getting bear spray and watching a video how to use it. DO NOT TEST IT. The cabins get super booked up in the summer so it’s unlikely you’ll find one. Even if no one is in it when you pass by it, it’s very possible that someone is just coming in late. I’ve hiked a ton by myself and have never been eaten by bears. It would be extremely rare for you to have a bear attack. You just need to be aware of your surroundings, have a whistle and bear spray, and practice leave no trace ethics like using the bear box for your food which are located at each campsite.
