Action of Solidarity between Casablanca CS group and Gaza CS group
Salam wa'alaykum kulshi!
The spirit of CS is to open your home and your heart to travelers and people around the world, to learn about cultures and also to help each other.
After visiting Palestine a few weeks ago when the bombardments happened, I felt I wanted to do something to help vulnerable children.
Wehn I got back to Casablanca, I asked CSers if they would be interested in creating an action group to help vulnerable children in Gaza. We are now a group of 15 or so Couch surfers in Casablanca, Morocco, who have started an action group to raise funds and procure books and medication to send to the association/NGO SOS Children's Villages in Rafah, Gaza, as well as start a correspondance project between children here in Casablanca and children in Gaza. We have a facebook page, action for gaza, which is under construction too.
We would like to invite fellow Couchsurfers in the Gaza group to get involved in our action and together with CS Casablanca create activities and actions that would benefit orphans and also children not living with their biological parents in Rafah.
We are starting out project activities now.
I will be visiting Palestine, including Gaza inch'allah, in May.
