Beitrag in Giżycko, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland

I am Tibor, currently living and working in Kraków for 1,5 years now but I'm originally from Hungary. I will have a trip to Gdansk for 3 days but I might change my mind and would spend 1,5 days in Giżycko since I am a big fun of water and nature.
My timetable would be very strict (I would leave Gdansk early on Sunday (21.08) and would arrive to Giżycko at 08:30 and leave on Monday at 15:30) so my question is the following: does it worth to visit the region only for this short period of time? I am not sure to interrupt my staying for Mazurskie but if you guys say it could be enough for some hiking, etc then I would go. I also found out that the most appropriate way from Gdansk to Giżycko would be by train, could you please confirm it? Moreover my last question would be that any of you could host me for 1 night on Sunday? I would highly appreciate it.
