Reading Terminal Market! It's right by the convention center with tons of food stands, some flower shops, bookstores, etc...
I can't wait to go there! Thank you!! :)
For art, there's the Fabric Workshop & Museum around there as well as Vox Populi (in a building with several galleries), Fleisher Ollman and Space 1026.
Sounds interesting! I will go and check it out. Thank you!
Yes, you will be right by Reading Terminal Market. From the market, you'll get at taste of what Philly has to offer. Be warned: the market can get really packed! I encourage you to venture out into Chinatown (its right behind the Convention Ctr.) You'll find some deliciously cheap eats. My recommendation : Pho Cali.
Yes. I think it is the beauty of the "market" and I hate to be surrounded by too many people but I will take a chance for sure lol. I will just go right in. I will try the Chinatown too. Thank you!! :)
Definitely Reading Terminal Market. Make sure to get a Cheese-steak sandwich somewhere. I recently went to Campo's at 214 E. Market - "the works" which was amazing.
For museums, you can walk or take the Market-Frankfort subway line. There are stops on Market at 15th and 13th streets, right by the Convention Center.
In Philly, the numbered streets run north/south, so go East on Market until you get to 5th Street. The Liberty Bell Pavilion, Independence Hall, and National Constitution Center are right there. Depending on how much time you have, you can to to the new Museum of the American Revolution which just opened down there. If you walk down to 2nd and go left, there's Elfreth's Alley - the oldest continuously inhabited street in the country. Franklin Court and the Franklin Museum are at Market between 3rd and 4th streets. Also right on Market there are the original (still functioning) Post Office (Franklin was first Postmaster) and recreation of Franklin's print shop.
This is a pretty good map: http://c0526532.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/Philadelphia-Historical-Park-Area-Map-2009.pdf
I will! But there are so many Cheese-steak sandwich places lol... Have you been to Jim's Steaks? I wonder this is the best or not haha.
